A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an accident on the A386 at Sourton this afternoon involving a JCB and multiple vehicles.

Police said they received a report at 3.55pm and it was believed that part of a JCB which was being transported on an HGV collided with multiple vehicles as it went around a corner.

Fire crews assisted with releasing a man who was trapped in his vehicle and he was taken to Derriford Hospital via air ambulance.The road is partially blocked both ways with heavy traffic.Police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage.
