POLICE are appealing for help in identifying two individuals (pictured right) who may be able to help with police enquiries regarding a burglary at Dartmoor Photographic in Brook Street, Tavistock. The burglary took place on Tuesday, November 12 between 3.20pm and 3.25pm. If you have any information, contact 101 via telephone or email, quoting crime reference number CR/102605/19.
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a piece of play equipment was set alight in the Meadows, Tavistock, between 6pm and midnight on Saturday, November 19. For the second time, the overhead carousel hurricane swing in the children’s play area was vandalised, costing £500 to repair and replace. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting crime reference number CR/105280/19.
DAMAGE was caused to the air raid shelter wire mesh security gate on the airfield at Harrowbeer Lane, Yelverton, between Saturday, November 9 and midnight on Monday, November 18. If anyone has information, call 101 quoting crime reference CR/104527/19.
TAVISTOCK police have received further reports of bank fraud in the local area in the past couple of weeks, where bank details have been given over the telephone.
A police spokesperson said: ‘The bank or police will never ask for details over the phone. If anyone asks you for details over the phone, go in to the bank and ask them face to face.’
Your bank or the police will never call or ask for your full PIN or full banking password; ask you to withdraw money to hand over to them or ask you to transfer money out of your account.
The spokesperson continued: ‘It pays to stop and think anytime you receive a request for personal or financial information. Remember, if you feel uncomfortable or unsure about what you’re being asked to do, never hesitate to contact your bank or financial service provider directly, using a number you trust, such as the one listed on your bank statements or on the back of your card.
‘Alternatively, sense check your actions with a trusted friend or family member and get their advice on whether you should go through with any action relating to your finances.’
POLICE in Okehampton are urging anyone who witnessed an incident in Simmons Park on Monday, November 18 in which the park keeper was assaulted by a youth to get in touch. The park keeper sustained minor injuries.
