THERE have been reports of shoplifting in Tavistock occurring on Saturday, November 9 around 12.30pm. Alert any suspicious behaviour in or around the shops and businesses to a member of staff.

A BURGLARY occurred at Scallywags Pre-School Village Hall at Halwill Junction between 6pm on Sunday, November 10 and 8.45am on Monday, November 11. Entry was gained via the bottom end of the fire door where glass was smashed and entry forced into cupboards and two metal file boxes. UNKNOWN offenders entered the reception area of The Ruby in Halwill by forcing the door open, smashed the CCTV and cut wires to the security lights before an untidy search. Access was gained to outside sheds by the same means and numerous items from both locations, including electrical gardening equipment and hand tools, before filling the company’s transit van and drove away. GUSCOTT Coaches Ltd on Station Road, Halwill Junction, had its commercial garage forced open between 9pm on Sunday, November 10 and 6.30am on Monday, November 11. Entry was gained by forcing the side door open giving access to the office where a search was undertaken and items stolen and placed in a transit van which was awaiting repair. Witnesses are sought by Okehampton Police to an incident involving a group of youths and an adult that took place on Monday, November 5 at around 4.30pm in the area of Park Row and St James Street, Okehampton.
