PUPILS from Okehampton Primary School had a flipping good time on Tuesday when they took part in a pancake race in Red Lion Yard.
Winners of the four heats were year 3 pupils George Harding and Emily Collumbell and year 4 pupils Joel Tancock and Calum Collins, who was the proud winner of the overall race.
He said: 'I thought I was going to lose at one point because it was so close. But I beat them all in the end and I am really pleased about that.'
Headteacher Brian Cunningham said: 'I think it is good and important that we preserve these traditions and bring home to the children what pancake day is all about.'
The winning pupils each won a Cadbury's Cream Egg presented to them by town mayor Kay Bickley.
