DIVERSIONS are currently in place around the A30 at Cheriton Bishop, which is closed both ways, following a serious, multi-vehicle collision.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called at 7.40am today (Wednesday, August 28) following a collision involving six vehicles.
Among the vehicles was an HGV which overturned and was left on its side, plus a caravan.
A number of people have been injured and two people are believed to be seriously hurt. The air ambulance is also on scene.
Both carriageways are closed and are likely to remain shut for some time.
Diversions are in place westbound at Fingle Glen/Pathfinder and eastbound at Woodleigh Junction.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible for the time being.
