The A3124 between Summers Moor Cross and Cadditon Cross, near Winkleigh, will be closed for resurfacing works tonight and four more nights over the coming week.
Devon County Council said closures will be in place from 7pm until 7am from tonight, June 24 and Tuesday, June 30 on week day nights only. There will be no works during the day.
The scheme will cover around 1,000 metres of the A3124 near Summers Moor Cross, just south of Winkleigh.
There will be a signed diversion in place during the overnight closures via the A3124 to Winkleigh, the B3220 to Down St Mary, the A377 onto Copplestone, followed by the A3072 to Bow and then back to A3124 just before you reach Sampford Courtenay.
The diversion will be the same in the opposite direction.
The signed diversion is only a recommended route using roads of a similar standard where possible, so that all vehicles can use the diversion route safely. Motorists with good local knowledge may use alternative routes.
During working hours, access to properties within the site area may be granted if there is no other route, however, they may be asked to wait a short time until it is safe to pass. Access for emergency vehicles will always be maintained.
The scheme is dependent on the weather which may have impact the duration of the work. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption.
