POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a elderly woman died following a serious collision at Whiddon Down, Okehampton on Monday evening.

A white Rover 45 collided with the central reservation barrier on the A30 at around 7.30pm, and the 77-year-old driver from Camelford later died from her injuries in hospital. The road was closed for around two and a half hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene. No other vehicles are thought to be involved.
