Dartington and Totnes firsts v Chagford firsts

TWO strong batting sides on paper became paper thin when Dartington and Totnes met Chagford last Saturday, where Chagford emerged the victors by just seven runs,  

Chagford, batting first lost early wickets and only Billy Searle (19) and Matt Bowes (19) made any impression with the bat. struggling to 111 all out.

The impressive  Ryan Stevenson with 6-24 and Bertus Loots 4-16 shared all Dartington wickets.

In reply to this low total the D and T reply was held together by K Blanchard, who threatened to lead the home side to victory. However, with only Loots and Howard Stevenson, both with 15, making any useful contributions the home side were all out for 103 to give Chagford victory be seven runs.     This was due to fine bowling by Billy Seale 4-18 and former Devon player Jerry Christophers 4 -16.
