WHAT memories the photograph brought back to me of the Royal Blue Coach at Okehampton (Times, July 5). I used to catch this one to Liskeard and take a taxi to No Mans Land near Looe.

I used to buy my ticket from Mr Weaver in the Arcade who had — if I remember rightly — an enamel sign outside his shop saying he was agent for Royal Blue.

My ticket cost 12/6 for a weekend return. I was earning £5 a week. Happy days? To quote Lord Byron: 'The good old times — all times when old are good.'
