RESIDENTS of Chagford will meet at Jubilee Hall for the second time to discuss the future of the town.

Back in March more than 200 people met for a public discussion about the town’s future following the loss of a number of business and it was recently announced that a follow-up meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 26.

The second open meeting, called Future of Chagford, will be to discuss ways to drive the town forward following recent closures of the Natwest branch and Northfield Garage, the reduced service of the Post Office as well as future closures to Lloyds Bank and Webber and Sons — one of the town’s longest serving businesses.

Following the last meeting, local business owner Ian Renwick volunteered to lead the revival of the town’s business association, with the hope this would help Chagford to thrive.

The second meeting aims to build on this enthusiasm by encouraging residents to have their say and come up with other ideas about how to ensure Chagford has a bright future.

The meeting will be held in Jubliee Hall on Wednesday, April 26. Doors open at 6.30pm and the meeting will begin at 7.30pm.
