WITH 95 days to go until Christmas — the North Pole postal service is so busy that it is recruiting undercover elves and helpers in Okehampton.
Rebecca Green, who runs the Mopplehog store in Okehampton, has come up with a series of letter writing workshops for children in the run up to Christmas.
The children taking part will be able write letters and post them to the North Pole. Little do they know that a team of volunteers from Okehampton will be writing back to every child, acting as Santa’s elves. during Father Christmas’ busiest time of year.
The letter writing workshop will be held on four Christmas market days in the town, including November 19 and 26 and December 3 and 10 from 10am until 2pm. There will also be a workshop held on Edwardian Evening on November 7.
Rebecca Green said: ‘This idea is completely free and at a time when everything costs money, Okehampton will have something every child can participate in and enjoy. Elves can be all ages and the more the merrier for any or all of the dates needed.’
