Tavistock’s Dickensian Evening is set to return on December 3 this year after it was cancelled in 2020 as a result of the pandemic.
Tavistock BID, organiser of the event, has given the go-ahead for the event after unaminously agreeing that the mostly open-air event could be managed safely despite the ongoing health crisis.
Chris Palmer, chairman of Tavistock BID, explained: ‘Tavistock Dickensian Evening is a much-loved Christmas tradition and is hugely important to the business community.
‘We are pleased to say that plans are very much going ahead at this stage. In accordance with current government guidance, we believe that it can be safely managed but are equally understanding that uncertainties around the pandemic remain.
