Sidmouth U16s 12
Okehampton U16s 15
OKEHAMPTON started slowly and let their opponents take the initiative. Poor first up tackling particularly by the forwards allowed the dangerous Sidmouth backs to run the ball wide. Yet it was their forwards who opened their account, snapping up a loose ball; the large number eight burst through Oke's defence to score close to the posts. With 10 minutes of the half remaining Sidmouth's backs launched an excellent attack from half way, good support play from the back row punched a hole through Oke's defence to score in the corner to give an healthy half time lead.
In the second half it was a complete change around. The Okehampton forwards upped their game magnificently. Driving play and superb rucking by the forwards punched holes in their opponents' defence and allowed half backs Hignett and Curtis to dictate play. From a ruck wide out on halfway Jordan Lee broke blind and kicked ahead. Christian Perry chased hard and brilliantly picked up to score in the corner. Sidmouth now found it difficult to break out of the their own half. From a penalty and resulting line out just outside the 22 Tom Stone took a great lineout and the resulting drive directed by Chris Pyle saw Tom touch down for a memorable try. With the Sidmouth defence in trouble Jordan Lee went blind and stretched over the line for a well deserved try.

OKEHAMPTON were quick out of the blocks, applying good pressure at the kick off to earn a scrum. A good drive from Chris Courtier was well supported by Matt Johns, who opened the scoring with a clinical finish —Lawrence Stone converting. Their second score came as Stone gathered a Saltash clearance kick and launched an 'up and under' to the posts and dived in first for the try and Johns converted. Saltash came back with a series of drives in the loose saw them go over for their first try with nearly the last play of the half.
In the second half Okes started to lose their composure and a string of unnecessary penalties saw Saltash get the equalising score from a short penalty. As the game drew to a close, Oke started to gain the ascendance but it was Saltash who went on to score the winning try.
Okehampton U14s 10
Cullumpton U14s 0
With pitch conditions classed as wet and a fine drizzle blowing off the moors the Okehampton squad warmed up for their first Devon Cup match of the year.
Cullumpton launched a series of attacks which were held off by the combined efforts of all the Oke players. Eventually Oke broke out and after a good set of moves Alex Arthurs touched down for an unconverted try. The game swung up and down the pitch but following a five metre scrum Oke's Josh Bush crossed the line with excellent support from the other forwards for an unconverted try. The second half was again a hard slog with both teams trying to break through their opponents' defensive line and battling with the pitch conditions.
North Okes U13s 24
Topsham U13s 12
In a closely contested first half North Okes made it hard for themselves by constantly going into contact against much bigger forwards. North Okes spent a considerable amount of time camped in the oppositions half without crossing the try line.
Topsham then scored a try and converted against the run of play. Okehampton then settled down and looked to pass the ball along the line for a faster, flowing game which allowed the backs to run onto the ball at pace and Billy to cross the line to score. North Okes started the second half with quick hands through Billy and Luke culminating in a try by Kieran. This was followed by an individual try by Billy and another from Alfie H cross the try line and Billy convert.

North Okes U12s
Sidmouth U12s
NORTH Okes got off to a flying start scoring early on in their first game of the season. Training had paid off with forwards looking convincing in the scrums and open play as did the backs who looked very sharp in both attack and defence. North Okes continued to put points on the board with new second row Charlie Gulsworthy pick and driving up through the middle of the pitch. Sidmouth attacked but North Okes defence was just too strong. All credit to new boys Dan, Sebastian, Aran and Sparky who all played well in their first match.
