THE Easter Bunny seems to have taken a particular liking to Lamerton resident Claire White and her husband Mark.
The elusive rabbit, long thought to be the stuff of legend, left her a present of chocolate namesakes at her cottage opposite the Blacksmith’s Arms in the centre of the village.
Claire is now sort of convinced of the Easter Bunny’s existence, though from a note left with the box of chocolates, she suspects it is more probably someone who wanted to say thanks for the couple’s yearly efforts in decorating their home with flower displays in the summer and lights at Christmas, which cheer the village up.
Claire said: ‘It was really quite touching that somebody took the time and trouble to put the bunnies in a box with a picture on the front. Obviously, there was quite a bit of thought gone into it.
‘I’ve no idea who it was, but whoever it was, I just wanted to say thanks. I was quite taken aback.’
