Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust has decided to cancel all live performances of the Nativity this year as new national covid restrictions have been brought in.

Instead, schools will film nativity plays and allow parents and guardians to watch online.

Sarah Jones from the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, said: ’We have been trying to act in a very responsible way. At the same time, we are really anxious that the children will be missing out on something for two years.

’Instead of cancelling things we tried to find other ways so that children don’t miss out.’

The decision will affect many children at schools in the Okehampton area including St James C of E Primary, Okehampton Primary, Chagford C of E Primary, Northlew and Ashbury Primary and North Tawton Primary School.
