MILTON Abbot School hosted a giant wiggle to celebrate the UK’s best selling children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
The event bought together 20 under six-year-olds from the foundation stage unit to form a giant caterpillar conga line. The children also took part in creative storytelling, arts, crafts, nature trails and healthy eating – all with a hungry caterpillar theme.
Jane Simmons, the early years leader at Milton Abbot School, said: ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a firm favourite in our foundation stage unit so we’re really excited to be hosting a giant wiggle.
‘We want to celebrate Eric Carle’s beloved book by encouraging our children to get active and have fun. All funds raised will help Action for Children support disadvantaged children, young people and families in the heart of communities in Devon and across the UK.’
Action for Children provides early years child development, learning and childcare services to thousands of tots throughout the UK, through its children and family centres.
More than 85,000 children and families have taken part in the giant wiggle since 2014, raising more than £150,000 for Action for Children.
Milton Abbot School raised a total of £350 for Action for Children.
