FOLLOWING the recent A Level success of Mount Kelly pupils, the school is delighted to announce an excellent set of GCSE results.

Forty four percent of all papers were awarded either an A* or A grade, with 17% being awarded the top A* grade.

This is a significant increase on last year and far exceeds the declining national average of six percent.

Headmaster Mark Semmence said: ‘I am extremely proud of our pupils’ GCSE results this year.

‘These results are a testament to the hard work and commitment of our pupils and their teachers.

‘Our results have significantly surpassed the national averages and the number of A* grades awarded at Mount Kelly has increased by 13%.’

As a further sign of its commitment to academic excellence, the Foundation has launched a new scholarship programme for the local community.

This will enable a pupil at a local school to study for their A-Levels at Mount Kelly with a means tested fee discount of up to 100%.

The successful applicant will commence their programme of sixth form study this coming September.

Mr Semmence said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for a young man or woman of real intellectual calibre to join the Foundation at a very exciting time in its development.’
