IN mark of Holocaust Memorial Day, Winkleigh Primary School invited a special guest to help pupils to learn more about World War Two.
On January 27 the school welcomed 86-year-old Eva Hamilton, a holocaust survivor, to meet with Year 6 students.
Eva had been captured by Russians in Poland and sent to to a labour camp in Siberia with her mother.
She had started writing a book when she was eight-years-old, and this book had been read to Winkleigh primary pupils by their class teacher.
A spokesperson for the school said that the children were delighted to meet Eva, and that she really helped to further their understanding about World War Two and how the Jews were treated.
