CS Juve U14s 1
Okehampton Argyle U14s 7
OKEHAMPTON travelled to Uffculme for their first game in two months.
Argyle started the game a little rusty and a superb save by Goodwin kept the game scoreless. Okehampton started to come into the game more and a good attacking move was well finished by J Stanbury. This settled Argyle down and by playing good football they soon added two more goals — as J Stanbury completed his hat-trick.
Juve always looked dangerous going forward but excellent defending by Gross, Loram, Taylor and Goodwin in goal kept Juve out. J Stanbury rounded off a brilliant first half display with his fourth goal of the game and Goodwin made it five from the penalty spot. One lapse of concentration just before half time let Juve score from a corner.
In the second half Argyle dominated possession and added two further goals from Bickle and Mallett. An excellent display by T Stanbury in midfield and tireless running from Voaden up front allowed Oke to keep the ball well.
This was a terrific display by the team with the substitutes contributing well. Good ball retention and great closing down showed good fitness levels by all.
