YOUNGSTERS in the Okehampton area can get involved in a jam packed programme of activities and sport during the Easter holidays.

The extensive programme has been put together by OCRA, and provides a wide range of sports, arts and activities to try.

Sports and arts days are being held on Tuesday, April 8, Thursday, April 10, Tuesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 17. Children can choose from a range of sports and activities throughout these activity days including football, netball, handball, fencing, unicycling, assault course, clay, collage and much more. The days run from 10am to 3pm for children aged six to 14 years.

OCRA's Outreach sessions on Monday, April 7, offering sport, art and play sessions for six to 14 year olds, will visit Highampton Village Hall from 10am to noon, and Bratton Clovelly Parish Hall from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. There is no need to book, and the sessions cost £2.

Keen cricketers aged eight to 16 can take part in a cricket cap on Wednesday, April 9. Youngsters can develop all their cricket skills with a Level 2 coach and a spin bowler. Kids will get coaching on batting, bowling and fielding, while taking part in drills, skills games and matches. The camp runs from 10am to 3pm.

Youngsters wanting to walk on the wild side can join in with a bushcraft and adventure day on Friday, April 11 with campfire making and cooking, woodland tracking and bushcraft games will be on the agenda at Alder Lake.

For horse lovers, there is an opportunity to ride on Dartmoor on Wednesday, April 16, plus get involved in horse care after the ride, which takes place from Eastlake Stables.

Devon's two biggest football clubs Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City will be running football roadshows throughout the holidays. Argyle's roadshow runs on Monday, April 7 and is open to boys and girls aged five to 15, while Exeter City's roadshow runs on Wednesday, April 16 at Okehampton College aged five to 14. Special Needs Activities in the Park – or SNAP – gives children and young people with special needs the chance to have fun, socialise, develop new skills and make new friends. The SNAP sessions will also run throughout the holidays at the Pavilion in the Park.
