THIS was a tight game between two competitive young teams. Tavistock made the early running scoring two quick tries and tagging excellently in defence.
The game opened up as the half went on and the tries started to flow for both teams, at half time Tavistock were 4-3 up.
In the second half Tavistock made three changes and it took some time to settle giving Liskeard the opportunity to take the lead.
The game remained tight with some good tagging by both teams and some good passing. Every time Tavistock scored to equalise Liskeard went forward and took the lead again. But two late tries, with some very good team defensive work in between, ensured a narrow, but well deserved Tavistock win. Try scorers for Tavistock - Oliver, Jonathan and Joshua (2 each), Alex and Callum.
Liskeard, fielding a team featuring a number of U8s, won the development game against Tavistock's youngest players convincingly although Tavistock's Billy, Christopher and Tommy did very well.
