THE locations for the new cycle stands in Okehampton have been confirmed by Devon County Council.

Following discussions with town and parish councils, Devon County Council have decided that the four locations for the stands would be George Street, near the Post Office, two sites at the train station and one at the junction of Jacob’s Pool and George Street.

Devon County Council had originally considered Fore Street as a potential location, however received an objection for this site from Okehampton Town Council, who recommended that an alternative site at Jacob’s Pool was suggested for further investigation.

A Devon County Council spokesman said the stands will require full approval prior to costing and scheduling for installation.
