CHAGFORD gained a much needed win at leaders Plymstock on Saturday.
Plymstock batting first lost early wickets and were soon at 57-4. Runs from the ever reliable Dave Orchard with 61 and Coultham 34 enabled Plymstock to reach 144 all out.
Young Billy Searle with 4-32 and Jerry Christophers 3-38 were the principal wicket takers.
Chagford were 26-2 but Arnie Searle, 44, and Colin Mortimore with 47 paved the way for a Chagford victory by four wickets.
Dave Orchard 2-48 was also in the wickets and was backed up by Thomas 2-35. Chagford 19 points Plymstock 5 points.
Chagford remain next to bottom in division B of the Devon League, as teams around them also gained useful points.
This season Chagford's four wins have all come away from home and include Plymstock and Chudleigh, who are first and second in the table.
