THE Duchy Square Centre for Creativity, Princetown, is something different, but, having wanted to visit it, I first had to find out if it was open.
Problem. Looking at the facade, it appeared to be 'blind'; nothing to show any activity within and no signs of any sort immediately visible to potential visitors.
Going closer, I could see the small sign inside the door that invites people to enter and browse, so I pushed the door and it opened. Inside, there are displays in the windows fronting the square, but, hey, cannot be seen from outside because of the reflective glass, presumably heat retaining, that prevents one from seeing what is beyond.
The occupants of the centre urgently need something to show that the centre is open; something bold and visible. They hope to have paying visitors, of course, but the lack of visibility is off-putting.
I realise that nothing can be done about the reflective glass, but something can be done outside on that space-wasting entrance paving to ensure that visitors know what is inside.
Please do not spoil an excellent facility for the lack of visible information.
