HATHERLEIGH allotments will see a bold new addition in the near future — a brand new polytunnel.

Costing Hatherleigh Town Council £960, it will be used to encourage the growth of seedlings and bring on other plants and vegetables, as well as prolong the growing season and protect tender plants.

The allotment opened in 2010 as a much-needed site for the Hatherleigh community.
