MID Devon Beaver Scouts from Crediton, South Zeal, Okehampton, North Tawton, Bow and Tedburn joined together for a 30th birthday party for the Beaver Scout Movement.
Earlier this month the children, aged six to eight, celebrated at a party held in South Tawton with party games and activities such as toasting marshmallows, chocolate, ball and balloon games.
No party would be complete without the provision of cake and the children indulged in individual cupcakes which featured the 30th Beaver logo. These cupcakes were baked by Okehampton leader Sulina Tallack and enjoyed by all. The children also had fun creating decorations for the Christmas tree festival which will be held in Crediton in early December. The colonies had fun and met other children from different colonies, which tied in well with the Beaver Scout motto of ‘fun and friends’.
Vacancies currently exist for a Beaver leader in Bow, a cub leader in South Zeal and Okehampton and Scout leader in Crediton. To discuss these vacancies call Trevor Waycott on at 07777664144 or email [email protected].
Heather Johns, a Beavers volunteer, said, ‘150,000 adults volunteer to make this happen for our young people and I can wholly recommend volunteering as it is rewarding to see the young people develop in all areas.’
