South Tawton Primary School nursery children got a visit from Okehampton police’s PCSOs last week as they learnt about public services.
Two Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs)visited the school last Wednesday (March 30) to tell the children about their work.
The children were offered the chance to try out the uniforms, get their fingerprints taken and ride in the police car.
Silje Rodde-Aust, nursery teacher at South Tawton Primary School, said: ‘The highlight was sitting in the police Landrover and using the sirens.
‘It was a super experience to enhance their learning about people who help us. It was a super experience to enhance their learning about people who help us.’
The police also emphasised how important it was for them to give children a positive experience to encourage a good working relationship with them in the future.
