Okehampton Town Council has announced that the police have identified the people responsible for the vandalism of the China Girl Tree in Fairplace Sensory Garden in August.

The incident took place on the weekend of August 9-10 and resulted in the tree being so badly damaged that the council was forced to remove the tree from the garden.

Police identified the culprits via footage from a nearby CCTV camera and are now dealing with those responsible.
