THE Royal British Legion is starting a drop-in service in Okehampton once a month, beginning on Friday, June 4.
The charity will have a representative at the Ockment Centre on the first Friday of each month from 10am to 1pm. The drop-in service will provide information, advice and guidance for serving members of the armed forces, reservists, veterans and their families.
The Legion was founded by veterans after the First World War. A century on from the start of that conflict, the organisation is still helping today’s service men and women, veterans and their families in almost every aspect of daily life.
The Royal British Legion also champions remembrance, safeguarding the memory of those who have given their lives for our freedom through remembrance education and events.
The drop-in service will run parallel to the Ockment Centre’s Friday hub service. Every Friday from 10am to 1pm the centre hosts its work club and sessions from Sanctuary Supported Living, Rethink Mental Illness. Citizens Advice Bureau and Learn Devon.
