BROADWOODKELLY Friday Market is the latest venue to host West Devon Connect's innovative outreach surgeries, events which bring together different agencies and organisations into a local venue, taking public services into the borough's more rural communities.

At the launch event, to be held between 10am and 12.30pm on Friday February 19, the Connect team will be joined by a wide section of organisations, including the Citizens Advice Bureau, the Police, Devon County Council Disc – the Family and Children's Information Service – Time for Life/Age Concern Devon, Devon Care and Repair, the Fire Service, Community Transport and Devon Wheels 2 Work.

Those attending will be able to access all sorts of information and services along with all the usual goods available from the market, as well as enjoying a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake.

Local Borough Councillor David Weeks, said: 'Broadwoodkelly has built a reputation for its community spirit and their Friday Market is the latest innovation.

'The market will allow the public to support local producers as well as the village hall. It is also possible to seek help from a local IT expert if you have any problems with your computer. I am delighted that West Devon Borough Council's Outreach Surgery has agreed to attend on a regular quarterly visit. It will make residents in the area more aware of services available to them.'

The outreach surgeries will join the Friday market on a quarterly basis throughout the year, on May 21, August 20 and November 19. Each surgery will host a variety of public agencies.
