MORE than 20 residents and parish councillors gave up their Bank Holiday Saturday morning to do a litter pick and sign clean through Sampford Courtenay.
Afterwards, the parish council provided a pasty lunch with a glass of cider each, which was kindly donated by the McIlwraith family at The Cider Vat.
A spokesperson for Sampford Courtenay Parish Council said: ‘Although we would all like travellers through our lovely village to take their litter home with them — it is a sign of the times that this may have to become an annual event.
‘A big thank you to all those involved!’
