A SAFARI supper in Sticklepath has raised an impressive £440 for two local good causes.
The annual event saw guests enjoy a three-course dinner around the village, with starters and mains in people’s homes and puddings in the village hall to finish.
There was also a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses.
The proceeds have been split between Okehampton Foodbank which received £240 and St Mary’s Church in Sticklepath which received £200.
Okehampton Foodbank supplies groceries and other necessities to families on benefits and low incomes who are struggling to put food on the table.
The foodbank also provides special food packages for families in need over the school holidays.
The foodbank is open at Okehampton Baptist Church in Fore Street on Fridays from 10am–12 noon.
St Mary’s Church has been threatened with closure in the past and fundraising plays an important part in its survival.
