AFTER 18 months of disturbances to their education due to the Covid pandemic, Year 11 students at Tavistock College celebrated in style at their end of year prom last night.

Decked out in ball gowns and suits, the students met in Bedford Square, some transported there in limos, classic cars and even a tractor, to be whisked away to Boringdon Golf Club on the outskirts of Dartmoor where they were dining and dancing the night away.

It was a welcome celebration to the end of a challenging year for the students.

Principal of Tavistock College Tristan Forster said: It was wonderful, that after all that these young people have been through and missed out on, over the last 18 months of their education to be able to put on their end of year 11 prom for them.

'It was important to share this milestone with them, their families and friends. As ever the collective effort that the college team and the students themselves put into the planning and organisation of the evening meant that it was a huge success and one that I hope lives long in the memories of the students who attended.

'We look forward to welcoming the vast majority of these young people back to the college in the sixth form in September, but for those moving onto pastures new we wish them the best of luck. '
