FORMER Spotlight presenter Teresa Driscoll is appealing to keen Okehampton bakers and tea lovers to share in a spot of 'proper high tea' on May 21, to support Devon charity Hospiscare.
In conjunction with a number of WI groups across the county, the Okehampton WI will be offering a refreshing cuppa and tasty treats at the Church Hall on Market Street from 3pm to help the charity as part of the 'tea at three' appeal.
Teresa said: 'Proper old-fashioned tea is enjoying a real revival at the moment so I think the time for this is perfect and really hope people will take this to their hearts.
'The fundraising arm Friends of the WI have stepped up magnificently. Already WI bakers from Ivybridge, Noss Mayo and Okehampton have offered to help.
'All the money from the tea-time treats will help local hospices offer a wide range of support to families facing difficult times.'
Hospiscare provides dedicated expert care and support for local people with a terminal illness. They offer support at home as well as in-patient care at their Exeter hospice.
