FORTY miles may seem like a long way, but for a group of Devon walkers it provided an opportunity to raise money for charity.
The dedicated walkers began in Okehampton and passed through Sticklepath, Chagford, Lustleigh, Chudleigh Kinghton, Ideford and finished in their home of Teignmouth.
The walk took place on Saturday, April 10.
All money raised will go to Operation Imprezza, a charity set up in 2002 by pupil at Torquay Grammar School for Girls, Sarah Hulme.
Miss Hulme set up the charity after visiting a school in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa, where she helped in a youth camp for children who have next to nothing.
The Mayor of Okehampton, Cllr David Weekes, presented a letter to one of the walkers which was passed on to the Mayor of Teignmouth.
The letter was a re-enactment from 1960, when Teignmouth fought against the invasion of the French and asked for Okehampton's help.
