COULD I please say a big thank you to all the people who came to the Safety on Dartmoor Day at Lydford Gorge on Sunday, June 23?

I know the weather was not very good but at least we only had a light shower in the morning, after that the day was dryer and got better as it went on.

And a big thank you to all the people from the emergency services who did the event either by swopping days off, or in their own time.

A big thank you to all the staff at Lydford Gorge, who were as usual fantastic and the Air Cadets from Tavistock and Okehampton, who did such a great job with the volume of traffic and visitors.

Plus a big thank you to James Medland for letting us use his advertisement hoarding by the A386, and to Howells the Butchers for the sausages, Palmers the Butchers for the bacon, and Morrisons for the finger rolls. Money raised from selling these items was split between Dartmoor Rescue Group and Devon Air Ambulance, £89 each.
