Torquay U14s 14
Okehampton U14s 39
THIS was the inaugural match between these two clubs at this level and it was apparent from the opening minutes that Torquay would be firmly tested by the Okes. After two minutes a well controlled ruck by Oke in their own 22 led to the ball finding Matt Dennis on the left wing, who ran a full 70 yards to score wide on the left. Jacob Horn coverted.
Within five minutes Matt again ran in to touch down for his second try. Jacob again added the extra points.
The visitors continued to dominate the play, with their forwards controlling the set pieces, turning over a number of scrums in the process and their dominance was rewarded when number eight Reece Peacock piled over.
Just before half time Torquay snaffle a ball at the half way line and ran through a number of tackles to score. The extra points were added to make the score 19-7 at half time.
The second half saw Oke well on top, and ten minutes into the half Reece Peacock finished off what he started as a move by the backs by piling over again for his second try. Something he repeated yet again to move the score to 29-7.
Brad Curtis shortly after followed Reece's suit with a 15 yard driving run, breaking a number of tackles on the way, to score directly under the posts.
Torquay secured a breakaway consolation try just before the close when they broke through to run in from the half way line. Torquay drop kicked the additional two points.
The game was finished off by a 10 yard jinking run from Harry Williams at outside centre to score, and finished the game off with the visitors.
Tavistock U14s 20
Liskeard U14s 57
DESPITE the final score Tavistock, with a couple of borrowed players, put up a brave fight against a strong Liskeard side. After a spirited start, with the first of many crunching tackles from Angus Hogg, first score went to Liskeard with a well converted try, but Tavistock responded with great attacking play resulting in a try by one of the honorary Tavistock players. Liskeard scored again after making the best of a penalty, with an overlap on the wing giving them an easy try. They repeated this tactic shortly afterwards, but to their credit Tavistock kept their chins up, and two well worked line outs took them within a few metres of the opposition tryline. Angus Hogg, Ollie Wood and Callum Cunningham took the ball agonisingly close to the line, then a massive drive by the Tavistock pack took them over with the ball touched down by captain Braidy Workman. Unfortunately Tavistock were unable to capitalise on their success and Liskeard scored twice more by halftime.
The second half was also difficult for the home team, who had difficulty countering the pace of the Liskeard backs, who scored four times. Superb tackles from Tavistock's Alec Hampden-Smith, Braidy and Ollie made the best of the situation, and after a Tavistock lineout Angus snatched a great try on the left wing. Bert Rodgers' weaving run set up a try by another borrowed Liskeard player just before the final whistle blew.

A penalty was awarded against Torquay leading to Oke's second try by Nathan T, which was converted by James M.

A pass to Nathan at the last minute allowed Oke to score again. Torquay battled and were rewarded by a try soon afterwards. Oke responded again and another quick ball from the scrum meant Dai Chi was able to run over for his second try.
