The erection of parking meters as proposed in Okehampton streets will, in my opinion, deter many shoppers living outside of the town from coming into Okehampton to do their shopping.

Local traders in the town must be dreading this happening. Trade is bound to suffer if the plan goes ahead.

If parking meters are going to be imposed upon us, the parking fee has to be manageable and payable in cash, in order to stop the town’s economy from suffering.
