Taunton Civil Service 3

AS the season nears its half way point Okehampton, having lost to some of the higher ranked teams in the division in South East two, must grasp their opportunities if they are to finish the season in a league position that does justice to their talent.  Taunton travelled to Okehampton holding up the bottom of the league.

Okehampton started well with Stuart  Jarvis causing havoc down the right wing; however, just like so many games the luck just was not with the home side and soon stand in keeper Pete Sim was picking the ball out of the Okehampton net.

The away team mastered the art of the aerial  ball and this a long ball played over the top with one bounce saw a Taunton player slotted the ball home.

Okehampton losing against the run of play has been a common thing this season.  The home side continued to dominate  the game and a great move involving Oke man of the match Martin Jones created a goal mouth scramble but the final shot from Simon Bourne was cleared off the line.

The pressure was mounting and captain Brett Lawson found Chris Luxton who. while running away from goal, spun around and hit an unstoppable shot to pull one back at 1-2.

The second half started with the home side keeping the pressure on Taunton, but Luxton failed to find the back of the net. Okehampton created many chances but Taunton defended deep and one more arial ball over the top put Taunton out of reach 1-3 from which the home side could not recover.
