OKEHAMPTON Simmons Bowling Club held its prize giving earlier this month.

Awards: Men’s club champion, D Critchley; Hutchings handicap cup, A Mathias; Tilly two wood cup, A Mathias; non winners cup, V Kirkland; AJ Newcombe cup, B Vernon; over 60s cup B Vernon; mixed pairs cup, Janet Griffiths and J Boyce; Len Jordon cup, Jean Hutchings, C Hutchings and M Poole; Ben Pook cup, P Southcott.

Jack Vanstone cup (ladies’ club champion), J Griffiths; handicap cup J Griffiths; two wood cup, J Middleton; pairs’ cup, S Hearne and V Kirkland; triples, V Kirklands, S Hearne and J Griffiths; most improved player (ladies), M Luxton.

The league and knockout cup is run by the club to raise money for various charities. This year £1,000 was raised.
