Taunton CS U14s 1

Okehampton U14s 2

THE Okehampton U14 boys' team travelled to Taunton for the next round of the England Hockey Developing Club's tournament.

On a wet and misty morning Taunton CS provided the opposition as Okehampton boys took a while to get going.

A scrappy start was livened up by an excellent strike from one of the Taunton players, which left the Oke keeper with no chance as it flew into the roof of the net.

As the half continued, Oke began to be more creative, and this was rewarded with several good strikes on goal.

The young Oke side finished the half as the stronger of the two teams.

Composure was to be key for Oke in the second half, and as their dominance grew, the equalising goal came early in the half.

Encourage by this, Oke moved the ball around the pitch with some style, and also defended well.

Midway through the half they took the lead which they deservedly held on to clinch the match.
