Taunton Vale 0
Okehampton A 4
WITH an under strength Okehampton at the wrong end of the table, and Taunton fourth all three points were needed to stop them being cut a drift with the bottom sides in the league. The game started with a high tempo and Taunton pressurised the Okehampton defence.
The ball found its way out to Oke's Stuart Jarvis on the right wing; he drifted past his marker than found Jake Lloyd who cooly placed the ball past the keeper. Confidence lifted the Oke side. Chris Luxton then threaten the Taunton goal but his shot was well saved by the keeper as the visitors went in 1-0 up at half-time.
Oke captain Brett Lawson charged his players to keep attacking, and no soon as the second half had began a move involving Lawson who played the ball towards Luxton, who stabbed the ball into the path of Simon Bourne for goal number two.
The Okehampton defence was looking good with excellence displays from Zac Middleton and Scott Bending. If on the rare occasion the ball did breach the Oke defence John Javis soon swept up any danger and goalkeeper Hayden Bond coped with shots on goal with ease. Soon Oke made it 0-3 when Jarvis passed the ball into Luxton whose shot was deflected into the path of Brett Lawson — who tapped the ball into an empty net.
Three soon became four when a short corner found Mark Bingham whose shot was screaming its way into the goal, but Simon Bourne touch beat the keeper.
