St Columba 27

North Tawton 3

NORTH Tawton fielded a changed team for this match across the Tamar with some key players unavailable.

Facing a strong St Columba side and playing uphill in the first half they had to soak up a lot of pressure and conceded a try under the posts early on. With the conversion the home side took an early lead at 7-0.

More strong forward play led to another try to St Columba but North Tawton replied with a well-struck penalty from fly half Jamie Stephens. This took the score to 12-3 to the home side, which Tawton did well to hold until near the break when the Torpoint side set up a driving maul and went over for another try. With the conversion being missed the score at half time was 17-3.

North Tawton stuck at their task during the second half and managed to hold St Columba to two more unconverted tries, giving a final result of 27-3.
