A MINUTE’S silence was observed at all matches throughout the Tolchard’s Devon League at the weekend in honour of league chairman and Tavistock club president Stuart Munday, who died last week, aged 72, after a long illness.

Andy Jarman, Tavistock Cricket Club’s treasurer, former chairman and a good friend of Stuart, said: ‘I have known Stuart almost all of my life and worked most closely with him over the last 12 years or so.

‘Stuart was a unique and powerful individual whose presence always filled any room he was in. Over and above, he had a complete and utter dedication to Tavistock Cricket Club and his rapport with the youngsters was a joy to witness. He will be sorely missed.’

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, May 31, at St Eustachius Church, Tavistock. A wake will be held afterwards at Tavistock Cricket Club.
