Lewdown firsts v
Whitchurch firsts
WHITCHURCH Wayfarers continued their yo-yo pattern of results and were soundly beaten by a determined Lewdown team on Saturday.
Put into bat Whitchurch never looked comfortable against an accurate attack. Bone (19) and Cotter (12) were as good as it got for Whitchurch with Ben Williams (3 for 21) and Dave Ball (4-14) doing the bulk of the damage. Ten maidens in 33 overs indicated just how difficult Whitchurch found it to score.
In reply Lewdown knocked off the runs with ease. Pengelly (22) and Ball (36) hit the runs without loss, aided by 25 extras.
The result moved Lewdown away from the relegation zone and left Whitchurch in mid-table.
