North Devon League two
Belstone v Incorrigibles
Belstone maintained their 100% record in the league with an impressive 139-run win over Incorrigibles.
Phil Woods and Tom Pearce (31) laid a solid foundation for Belstone with a partnership of 76 for the second wicket which was followed by Woods and Ryan Dennis (33) adding 83 for the fourth wicket before Woods became one of Russell Hilton's three victims, clean bowled for a fine 84.
Needing 222 to win Incorrigibles made a disastrous start with both openers run out with only four runs on the board.
Ryan Dennis ripped out the middle order with four wickets for five runs in seven overs to leave the home team in tatters at 24-7.
Only Hilton (22) and a last wicket stand of 28 between Steve Carmody (14 not out) and Jack McGovern (19) delayed the inevitable as Incorrigibles were all out in 30.5 overs for 82.
Belstone v Beaford
BELSTONE recorded a third successive victory to stay joint leaders with Heathcoat.
Visitors Beaford were asked to bat by skipper Richard Drake and began steadily with Ali McMillan (16) and Paul Heard (14) putting on 38 in 12 overs for the first wicket.
Once Harry Bushin had made the first break-through the middle order collapsed as Bushin (24-4) took three more quick wickets leaving Beaford struggling on 62-6.
A 61-run seventh wicket recovery followed between Nigel Lake and Geoff Lake (21) before another flurry of wickets spearheaded by Matt Dennis (22-4) took the innings to a 45-over close on 142-9, Nigel Lake finishing on 34 not out.
The only blip on Belstone's effort in the field was to give away 27 wides. Their reply was anchored by a fine 85-run opening partnership between Phil Woods (35) and Scott Tremain and completed by an unbroken third wicket stand of 45 between Tremain (five fours in 56 not out) and Drake (29 not out).
