Okehampton Argyle 3
Bow 3
BOW scored in the first minute when a free kick in from the right was not defended well by the Okehampton defenders, leaving an away attacker with the easy job of picking his spot.
Argyle created numerous chances to equalise but poor finishing, good goalkeeping and more than a little luck Bow kept the Oke attackers at bay and with 20 minutes gone.
Argyle were well on top but a long ball out of defence from the Bow centre half found the pacy left winger, who ran to the bye line and crossed the ball perfectly for his centre forward, who made no mistake from 10 yards.
Okehampton started to throw more men forward and it eventually paid off with left back Corey Burns scoring in the 40th minute to give the home side a lifeline just before half-time.
The second half was almost entirely played in the Bow half and eventually the ball broke nicely to Argyle’s Steve Kinsey in box who made it 2-2 with a lovely shot in the bottom right hand side. With 20 minutes to go the home side threw everything at the visitors’ defence but a Bow midfielder stole the ball off an Oke player and passed it out to the Bow left winger, who skipped around a couple of defenders before crossing it to a Bow attacker to make it 3-2 to the visitors and give them hope for their first win of the season.
With 15 minutes left Argyle managed to bring the game level again when a corner from the right was smashed home by Sam Reed to make it 3-3.
The remaining 12 or so minutes was again played mostly in the Bow half and Okehampton nearly got the winner when an indirect free kick was awarded; the resulting strike was turned on to the post by the Bow keeper to keep the score 3-3 at the final whistle
This was Okehampton’s third draw in row and another two points dropped and practically ends any chance of a top three finish but they only have themselves to blame as poor finishing, bad defending and poor decision making at crucial times has again cost them dearly.
