ON Saturday at Okehampton Golf Club members competed in an Individual Medal Competition in glorious conditions.

The winner of division one was Norman Heslop with a nett 62; in second place Steve Robinson nett 67 and in third place Rob Green nett 69. The winner of division two was Matt Scott –Tucker with nett 63; in second place was Sam Evans nett 65 and in third place Alex Anderson with nett 69. In division three the winner was Chris Ball with nett 64, in second place Steve Hill nett 65 and in third place Pete Grant with nett 68.

Okehampton Golf Club’s Dartmoor League team had a thrilling and tense 4-1 win against Fingle Glen Golf Club. This sets them up nicely for their final fixture of the season at Honiton where they are looking to retain their league one title which they won in 2018. The Dartmoor League squad is captained by Paul Prouse and Barry Down.

Okehampton Golf Club members enjoyed their annual Pro’s Day on Saturday, September 7, hosted by the club professional Ashley Moon. The format was four ball better ball on the front nine and both scores to count on the back nine.

The overall winners with a total of 60 points were Neil Penfold and Kevin Harding, in second place were Kevin Cornwall and Matthew Parry with 58pts having a better back nine than Mark Curtis and Phil Martin who were third. Dave Lawson and Adrian Raymond took fourth place with 57pts and Frances and Henry Harbron were fifth with 55pts.

The ladies’ section played a monthly medal competition and the winner of the silver division was Frances Harbron with nett 70, Marcia Collett was second with nett 72 and Lin Atkinson third with nett 76. Elaine Marwood was the winner of the bronze division with nett 73 after countback on the back nine from, in second Sue Davies, Janice Thwaites was third with nett 75.
