AFTER a tense and competitive match, Chagford were just able to edge past local rivals thanks to a late goal from Josh Stanbury.

Both sides started at pace although the hosts were the first to settle, putting together some decent passes but not creating any clear chances until the 20th minute when Euan Stone found space to slot the ball home.

The lead was not to last more than eight minutes as Hughes' shot left Penberthy motionless for the equaliser. The game grew scrappy at this point with Tedburn enjoying much of the possession. With half-time approaching, Summers fired home to give the visitors the lead.

It did not take many minutes after the break for Chagford to net their second. when the competitive Robbie Miller chased down a poor back-pass and fearlessly accepted a fierce challenge to score. This gave a boost to Chagford and, a few minutes later, Josh Stanbury put them ahead again with the first of his double.

Both sides played good football at this point and the exchanges were fairly even. With minutes left on the clock, Tedburn's Hughes found another equaliser. Much of Chagford's latter play had relied on Josh Stanbury's pace and ability to press defenders into mistakes and this was to provide the winner. Sent free on the edge of Tedburn's area, the youngster side-stepped a couple of challenges and curled the ball into the far, top corner of the net for an 89th minute winner.
