CARADON 5
OKEHAMPTON MEN’S FIRST 0
Both teams moved the ball around the pitch well and the Oke forward line of Josh Speak, Reuben Bourne and Will Ash tried to pressure the Caradon defence and create goal scoring opportunities. However, the game was being stretched from end to end at pace which opened up the Okehampton midfield of Patterson, Morgan and Liversidge.
The visiting defence of Howard, Gers, Hall and Cooper had no answer to a swift counter-attacks from Caradon and the home side took an early lead. A penalty corner was converted to put Caradon 2-0 up just before the break.
The visitors kept their shape and structured hockey; the return of France to midfield helped to widen the play. Caradon attacked without really threatening the Okehampton goal but the first time they did, they won a short corner which they converted to take the score to 3-0.
Okehampton had their opportunities at the other end where Morgan had a great shot on target which was saved by a defender. Try as they might Oke were unable to score on the day and Caradon added a further two goals before the end.
Caradon now move above Okehampton in the league and Oke drop to third in the table.
